Glide into a narrow canal and discover picture-postcard scenery as you head towards Sa Dec, the ‘little Venice’ of the Mekong Delta.  Experience the romance as you go back in time to visit the house belonging to the ‘lover’ of the famous French author, Marguerite Duras.  Marvel as you pass underneath the tangle of monkey bridges on your way to Can Tho arriving as the sun sets for a romantic dinner at Nha Co, a house dating back to the 19th century.

DAY 2: CAI RANG – CAN THO

Muong Hum MarketThere are some weekly markets around Sapa: Coc Ly market on Tuesday, Cao Son market on Wednesday, Lung Khau Nhin on Thursday, Can Cau market on Saturday, Bac Ha market on Sunday, etc.
These markets deeply show the typical cultural features of the minorities in remote mountainous areas in Vietnam. Further more, you can enjoy seeing boys and girls in colorful costumes – different colors of the mountains. They attend the market in the hope of finding “the other halves of their life” and this is also the time for them to chat, to exchange everything among different ethnic peoples through cups of wine sold in the market.
Later that, transfer back to Lao Cai for your night train back to Hanoi.

Day 13: Mui Ne – Ho Chi Minh

Then you will visit Trung Nguyen coffee village (learn about coffee culture at their museum). Try Vietnamese coffee. In the afternoon, visit Ako Dhong – an Ede Traditional Village. Located about 2km to the north of Buon Ma Thuot city center, this village was established in 1958 by chief of village Ama H’rin migrated from M’Drak district. In the beginning of establishment, there were only 10 houses and 50 people in the village. Nowadays, Ako Dhong village has 94 households, 53 houses, 800 inhabitants, living by planting rice, coffee and tourism activities, weaving, wine production, and selling souvenirs. Especially, organizing prayer rituals for a new house, good health, and welcome ceremony…

DAY 3: HANOI – HA LONG

DAY 5: HANOI – FLY TO HUE

On arrival, we board on a private boat for cruising on the romantic Perfume River. This time we head out for the countryside. Being the ancient capital, Hue is surrounded with ancient tombs of emperors past, and a visit to some of these tombs will be on the itinerary for today. The charming Lady Pagoda (Thien Mu Pagoda) will be the first stop of the day. Setting in the converge of rivers, and gives you a great view on the Perfume River and surrounding area.
This afternoon we embark on a tour of Hue City including the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, the Imperial Museum and the Dong Ba market. Overnight in Hue .

DAY 6: HUE – HOI AN

In the afternoon, drive to Hoi An via Danang. Stop over at the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before a scenic route climbing over the Pass of Ocean Clouds (Hai Van Pass).

DAY 7: HOI AN – MY SON EXCURSION
my sonIn the morning, drive to My Son, a World Heritage, 40 kms southwest of Hoi An. My Son was a capital and religious center of Cham people, now remaining with red brick towers and sanctuaries. My Son, considered being in the same league as some of Southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia. These towers and sanctuaries were built from the 7 to 13 centuries.
Back to Hoi An for lunch at a local restaurant.

vinh trang pagodaLeave HCMC to lush My Tho where we cruise on a private boat through the green vegetation of the canals to an orchard, where we are treated to a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in the heart of the Mekong, complete with tropical fruits. We also visit the snake farm Dong Tam that breeds snakes for, among other things, snake wine and visit VinhTrang pagoda, a combination of Asian and European pagoda before heading Can Tho city, heart of the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.

 

DAY 10: CAN THO – CHAU DOC
floating market in mekong deltaAfter breakfast, take a boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River), then visit the Cai Rang floating market, which are the best in the region. You will probably have tried Vietnamese vermicelli soup, so now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and talk with the local people. Learn how to cross a “monkey bridge” which is built from a single bamboo. Break for lunch. Proceed to Chau Doc, stopping off at Long Xuyen to visit the Thot Not Bird Sanctuary. From the summit of the Sam Mountain, admire the beautiful landscape around the Vietnamese-Cambodian border.

DAY 11: CHAU DOC – SPEED BOAT TO PHNOM PENH

DAY 12: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP

In the afternoon, visit Chantier Ecole-Artisan d’angkor, the place are in the Ministry of Education was constructed in 1992 and this place renowned woodworking, stone carving and polychrome training center and workshops. Free tour of the classes and workshops offer a glimpse into the unique skills training program, teaching young artists in the techniques and styles of classic Cambodian artistry.

DAY 13: SIEM REAP
angkor templeToday we start to world heritage areas on the roads less travelled. Ride among the jungle passing local village and local shop. It’s a very special and acting day as you will explore some of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. You will visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourists.
The tour start with the visiting to the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor, visit Bakheng Temple and enjoy a romantic sun set view form Bakheng hill.

DAY 14: SIEM REAP

The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of it decorative carving. Continue to visit Banteay Samré, the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers, Prasat Kravan – with its unique brick sculptures, Srah Srang – The Royal Baths” was once used for ritual bathing, Banteay Kdei (surrounded by four concentric walls).

Highlights of Vietnam 14 days

This tour is a chance for you to discover Hanoi’s Old Quarter and emerald green waters of Ha Long Bay, travel through the heart of Vietnam’s vibrant past to quaint Hoi An, then discover the local water life of Mekong Delta before spending last fews days on the peaceful island of Phu Quoc.

DAY 1: AUSTRALIA – HANOI

DAY 2: HANOI CITY EXCURSION

This full day tour takes you around Hanoi’s most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his Stilts House, Presidential Palace and One Pillar Pagoda nearby, the Lake of the Restored Sword and Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, peaceful West Lake with lovers street Thanh Nien, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda. Take 01 hour cyclo tour around the Old Quarter to enjoy the soul and sound of Hanoi. End the day with a show of Water Puppet.

DAY 3: HANOI – HA LONG BAY
ha long bayAfter breakfast, drive to Ha Long Bay with 4 hours travelling for the overnight cruise on a deluxe junk. Begin with a seafood lunch then explore some limestone caves. In the afternoon enjoy a swim or relax in the sun on the top deck or try your hand at some kayaking.

 

 

DAY 4: HA LONG BAY – HANOI
halong kayakThis morning continue to move around the bay to find more secluded areas to either swim or kayak. At around midday, the boat will return to the main harbour before transferring to an awaiting vehicle for the journey back to Hanoi to spend the night.

 

 

DAY 5: HANOI – FLY TO DANANG – HOI AN

On arrival we are greeted and driven a short distance to Hoi An which was originally a Cham seaport but has been influenced down centuries by a myriad of traders from various cultures. There are plenty to see in this tranquil and delightful town, some of which are the famous Japanese Covered Bridges, the Pottery Museum, the 200 years old Tamky House, the Chua Ong Pagoda and the vibrant market. We visit these sights on an enchanting walking tour past many low tiled houses scattered along the small streets, and assembly halls which reflect the town’s multi-cultural past
Overnight in Hoi An.

DAY 6: HOI AN FREE TIME

If you like to cook, you can spend a fabulous day exploring the local produce market with an expert chef who will teach you the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine.

 

 

DAY 7: HOI AN – FLY TO HO CHI MINH

DAY 8: HO CHI MINH – MY THO – CAN THO
mekong deltaLeave Ho Chi Minh City to lush My Tho where we cruise on a private boat through the green vegetation of the canals to an orchard, where we are treated to a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in the heart of the Mekong , complete with tropical fruits. We also visit the snake farm Dong Tam that breeds snakes for, among other things, snake wine and visit VinhTrang pagoda, a combination of Asian and European pagoda before heading Can Tho city, heart of the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.

 

DAY 9: CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET – FLY TO PHU QUOC

Take boat trip to join in the Cai Rang floating market – one of the most bustling floating markets in Mekong Delta with hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for space to sell their goods and to experience the Mekong rural lifestyle. After sampling local fruits, our guide will escort the guests back to the hotel through myriad canals.
After that, transfer to the airport for a short flight to Phu Quoc at noon.

DAY 10 – 12: PHU QUOC FREE TIME

DAY 1: AUSTRALIA – HO CHI MINH

DAY 2: HO CHI MINH CITY – CU CHI TUNNELS
Cu Chi TunnelsOur city tour will help you to see the best of Saigon. In the morning we visit the historic Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum, followed by the architectural treats of French colonial Notre Dame Cathedral and the Post Office.
In the afternoon, we drive to Cu Chi district, 65 km to the Northwest of Saigon City. On arrival watch a video presentation on the construction of the tunnels before making your way into the tunnels. This unique experience gives a fascinating insight into what underground life in the war must have been like.

DAY 3: MAI HOME COOKING CLASS
cooking classThis morning you will begin your culinary discovery with a fun cooking class in Ho Chi Minh. Enjoy being taught how to prepare some traditional Vietnamese dishes at the Mai Home Cooking Centre. The experience begins with a fascinating visit to the market, where you are sure to marvel at the foodstuffs on display. Here the expert chefs will introduce you to some of the ingredients and ways of substituting them those more commonly found in western countries. Then, it is back to the cooking centre for a fun ‘hands on’ cooking lesson. Here, you will be taught how to prepare a variety of dishes. After the class, it is time to enjoy your delicious creations.

DAY 4: MEKONG DELTA – FLY TO DANANG – HOI AN

DAY 5: HOI AN COOKING CLASS WITH RED BRIDGE
chua cauToday we start the cooking class from Hai Scout Café in Hoi An for welcome drink. Then visiting Hoi An’s colourful market and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. Take the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. Board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is ready. On arrival, explore the cooking school’s herb garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours. The Red Bridge chefs first demonstrate each dish before you prepare the same dish yourself. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, indulge your cooking.
In the afternoon, we come back to the hotel. You can take bicycle from the hotel to cycling surrounding Hoi An town.

DAY 6: HOI AN FREE TIME

DAY 7: HOI AN – HUE
royal meal in hueIn the morning, depart for Hue with 3 hours driving. Stop over at the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before a scenic route climbing over the Pass of Ocean Clouds (Hai Van Pass).
On arrival at Hue, we embark on a tour of Hue City including the Citadel and Khai Dinh Tomb.
Enjoy a sunset cruise on on the romantic Perfume River with a visit to Thien MU Pagoda.
Setting in the converge of rivers, and gives you a great view on the Perfume River and surrounding area.

 

DAY 8: HUE – FLY TO HANOI
water puppetEnjoy some free time in Hue in the morning and fly to Hanoi in the afternoon.
In the evening, you will be enchanted by the legends and stories told at the Thang Long Water Puppet show that no one should miss while visiting Hanoi.

DAY 9: HANOI COOKING CENTER – CITY EXCURSION

The tour begins at 09.00 AM with an introduction to the local food scene over a hearty bowl of pho; noodle soup, the quintessential Hanoi street food. Then it is off to a bustling local market where your  chef will demystify the local produce, and encourage you to taste some of its most exotic ingredients . A further 5 venues are included in the tour and all travel between venus is by taxi or on foot, the tour lasts for 5 hours and finishes with a typical Vietnamese ca phe, or che  (Vietnamese tea) and local sweets. Your chef and guide will also share some of their favorite eating and shopping secrets in Ha Noi for you to explore further

After lunch, drive to the very impressive Museum of Ethnology, among the finest of Vietnam’s museums. You will see many exhibits, photographs and actual houses inhabited by some of the 54 ethnic people in Vietnam. It will offer a truly colorful introduction to these ethnic tribes. Later then, we’ll visit the 11th century Temple of Literature.

DAY 10: HANOI – HA LONG
